Having difficulty finding your way through the mental healthcare system? You don't have to do it alone.

The mental healthcare system can be difficult to navigate. Getting to an accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and building in the supports needed for success at home, school, and in the community can be a huge challenge.

For families, CMHRC’s Wayfinder service is a bespoke case management for your journey through the mental healthcare system. We have shepherded countless families through this process and given them the priceless gift of hope. Through individualized attention and support you’ll develop an ongoing relationship with our expert staff, all of whom share the lived experience of caring for a loved one with a mental illness. This means we are uniquely positioned to understand your family’s needs and provide the support you need.

For providers, this same service is available to support you through your diagnostic process, providing you with consultation you need to feel confident in the diagnosis and treatment plan for your most complicated cases.

How We Can Help

Families, need help understanding a specific diagnosis, its implications, and prognosis? Need help figuring out ways to talk to doctors, therapists, teachers, and family members about your challenges?  Are you looking for safe and effective lifestyle interventions to support treatment? Need reliable, researched-backed information on medications and their side effects? Or maybe, you just don’t want to face these challenges alone. We can help.

Designed to support you on your journey, the Wayfinder service brings comfort to families that have been isolated for too long. With knowledgeable and experienced professionals in your corner, who also share your lived experience with mental illness, everything feels more manageble.

Become part of a welcoming, accepting, and understanding community as we walk with you on the path to stability.

The Wayfinder service exists to provide an environment designed for success. Families experience more positive outcomes when we are able to surround them with ongoing comprehensive service.

Providers, tired of feeling as though you have to figure out everything on your own, even with really tough cases? Feel as though the professionals around you don’t have the background and experience with complex mood disorders like bipolar disorder in children? We can help.

With consultation and collaboration during the differential diagnosis process, our staff are able to give you the expert input you’ve been missing. We’ll conduct a thorough, family approved, case review to provide insight on differentiating symptoms from behaviors and on symptom overlap between commonly misunderstood diagnoses like bipolar disorder or disruptive mood dysregulation disorder. We’ll help you give your clients the best possible care, identifying the accurate diagnosis, developing an effective treatment plan, and having adjunctive resources that will help improve quality of life.
